I'm a big girl mummy - posted by Sylvia

Darcy is starting to learn to sit up on her own for about 30 seconds before she keels over. She has grown so quickly and I can't believe she was the little, tiny newborn 5 months ago. We've started her on rice cereal and some pumpkin. She seems to need it as milk doesn't completely satisfy her any longer. She has also been in the walker and is moving forward. She is a little curious munchkin and has sidled up to the fridge to try to grab things off it or anything within her reach to pull down. Her skin is still a concern for us as it flares up at least once a week. My mum has worked out that the best remedy is good old vaseline. I'm not too keen as it contains petroleum but ironically all the organic products like Gaia, QV lotion etc just don't help and make her itch even more.
Joss is absolutely amazing with her. He is patient and when she hits him he says "She's just a baby - it's ok - it didn't hurt". Plus we are admonished constantly "Don't talk to her like that mummy - she doesn't know - she's just a baby". Darcy adores him in return. She will reach out to touch his face with her hands and give him soft kisses.
